How it works

Scan it. Label it. Find it later.

  1. 01 / Scan

    Scan a drive.

Point it at a drive or folders and get every project on it in about a minute: size, file count, media types and date range, plus the drive’s capacity, format and UUID.

  2. 02 / Passport

    Print its Drive Passport.

A one-page contents sheet, or a 2×1 or 4×6 label with the drive name, short ID, scan date and top projects. The drive on the shelf says what is on it.

  3. 03 / Find it

    Search every drive.

Search a project name to see which drive it is on and when that drive was last seen, even when it is unplugged.

Stays on your Mac

Your drives stay yours.

  • No account.

Install it and scan. There is nothing to sign up for inside the app.

  • Nothing uploaded.

DriveDock reads file names, sizes and dates, never file contents. The Mac sandbox blocks its network access, so the inventory, the passports and the search stay on your Mac.

  • Free, signed and notarized.

A free Mac app from Vaultline, not a trial. Signed and notarized by Apple, so it opens like any other Mac app.

Before you start

A few useful details.

What do I need?

A Mac running macOS 13 or later, on Apple silicon or Intel. Leave your name and email above and the download appears on the page.

Does it cost anything?

No. DriveDock is free.

Do I need an account?

No. DriveDock runs on your Mac without an account. We ask for an email only so we can send you the download.

Does it upload or read my files?

No upload. DriveDock reads file names, sizes and dates, never file contents, and the Mac sandbox blocks its network access.

Can I find a drive that is not plugged in?

Yes. DriveDock remembers every drive it has scanned, so a search shows which drive a project is on and when that drive was last seen.

Is there an iPhone or Windows version?

Not today. DriveDock is a Mac app. An iPhone companion may come later; we will not promise a date.

Stop plugging in drives to find out what is on them.
