Plan the shot. Find the aircraft.

Be ready when it happens. Airview Studio puts the aircraft, every camera and every mark on one UTC timeline. Phone in the field, desktop for the producer.

Airview Studio: a terrain map with an aircraft's track, a camera's field of view, and a card showing the aircraft behind terrain with closest approach, range, bearing and the sun.
Airview Studio's own screen. Simulated mission, demo data.
On the shoot

Three questions, answered at a glance.

Airview Studio's own screens, on a simulated mission.

Airview Studio on a phone: a satellite map with the aircraft taking off, the camera site, and a card saying it reaches you in about 12 minutes.

Where is it?

Range, bearing and height from your camera, and whether it is in view or behind terrain.

Airview Studio team view on a phone: six crew members with their cameras and lenses, one marked as having the aircraft in frame.

Who has it?

Every camera on the shoot, and which one has the aircraft right now.

Airview Studio timecode slate on a phone: large UTC timecode, frame rate, and a button to slate this camera.

What did we get?

A timecode slate for every camera, so the clips line up in the edit.

Spoken updates

Eyes on the aircraft, not the phone.

With an AirPod in, Airview Studio reads the updates out loud.

  1. Takeoff and landing.
  2. Distance from you as it closes.
  3. Closest approach.
  4. In view, or behind terrain.
  5. Position data lost.
MARK

One tap on MARK. Straight into the edit.

MARK is always on screen. One tap drops a timestamped mark. Double-tap makes it the hero. With no signal, marks stay on the phone and sync when you are back.

Airview Studio marks panel: four marks with UTC timecodes, one flagged as the hero, and export buttons for Premiere XML, SRT and CSV.
Marks export to Premiere XML, SRT and CSV.
Before and after

Plan it on the desktop. Replay it after.

  1. Add the aircraft by registration.

Mark which one you are filming, and which is the camera ship.

  2. Place every camera.

See where each one points, and what it can see past the terrain.

  3. Invite the crew with a link.

Phones in the field join the same mission.

  4. Open Replay after the shoot.

See every moment again, with every mark on the same UTC timeline.

The boundary

What it is, and what it is not.

Airview Studio is production awareness for content crews. It is not for navigation, traffic separation, collision avoidance or any safety-of-flight decision. Pilots and authorized aviation personnel remain the source of truth.

Questions

Asked plainly.

Who is it for?

Air-to-air, ground-to-air, flight-test and aerial production crews, and the producer running the shoot.

What does it cost?

It is free to start. Plans are listed at airview.studio.

Do we need an app?

It runs in the browser on a phone and on a desktop. On a phone, add it to your Home Screen and it runs full screen.

What if there is no signal on site?

Marks are kept on the phone and sync automatically when the signal comes back.

Do we need Media Nexus?

No. Airview Studio runs on its own. If your team runs Media Nexus, it integrates natively.
